    KONARK SUN TEMPLE

    Konark is located at a 1-hour drive from the city of Bhubaneswar. Konark Sun temple is famous for its 100ft high chariot-like structure and wheels and horses carved out from stones. The site is listed as a UNESCO world heritage site and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in town. Konark is also known as Arka Khetra as it is dedicated to the Sun God.

    PURI

    The city of Puri is located 60 km south to the capital city of Bhubaneswar. It is famous for its beaches and the Jagannath Temple, that form the main attractions. With the comfortable and luxurious catering and restaurants presents in the city, it is well equipped to cater to tourists of different genres.  The city has many places to visit, including Chilika Lake, Puri Beach, Gundy Chagal, and the Temple of the Sun.

    The Golden Sea Beach in Puri has been given the prestigious Blue Flag tag. It is about 2 km from Lord Shree Jagannath Temple Puri. India has ten blue flag beaches, and the Golden Beach of Puri is one of the best of them. Blue Flag Beach is the best and one of the cleanest beaches of Puri, Odisha. There are bathing and changing facilities, toilet’s, drinking water, watchtowers, solar lighting system, sitting arrangements, and drinking water facilities are available. There is a small playing area that is the main attraction for kids.

    CHILIKA LAKE

    It is the biggest coastal brackish water lagoon spread over three districts of the state of Odisha. Chillika Lake is a haven for a variety of plants and animals species witnessing high number of birds migrating here in the winters ever year Because of its extensive fisheries source, it supports around 160 species of birds during the peak migration season.

    KHANDAGIRI & UDAYAGIRI

    These caves are significant to the state of Odisha both historically and religiously. These caves contain a total of 33 rock cuttings, partially natural and partially artificially structured. Located 7 km from Bhubaneswar takes us back in time and is probably the only recorded history of the era that is still shrouded in mystery. Built somewhere around the 2nd century BC by King Kharavela, widely regarded as the most powerful king in the annals of the history of Odisha.

    DHAULI GIRI

    The primary edicts of Ashoka are etched on a large chunk of granite at Dhauli Giri, which is located across the Daya River in Bhubaneswar. This region is thought to have been the battleground where King Ashoka had killed more than 150,000 people. It serves as a Buddhist and Hindu pilgrimage place. Countless temples and caves carved out of the rock, as well as numerous stupas, pillars, and monasteries, are scattered throughout the hills.

    SATKOSIA TIGER RESERVE

    Satkosia spreads along the magnificent gorge over the mighty river Mahanadi in Odisha. Established in 1976 as a wildlife sanctuary, Satkosia is a paradise of immense scenic charm. It is one of the best ecosystems in the country, representing a diverse floral and faunal extravaganza. Mammals found here include the leopard, Indian wild dog or the (dhole), wild boars, striped hyena, sloth bear, leopard cat and the jungle cat. The major herbivores include the Asian elephant which is found in large numbers and can often be seen crossing rivers.

    NANDANKANAN CONSERVATION PARK

    As India’s first Gharial breeding facility, Nandankanan Conservation Park, also known as Nandankanan National Park, was established. Established in 1960, Nandankanan is a name that means “garden of delight.” As a conservation park, it has multiple conservation units and enjoys a reputation internationally for successfully breeding black panthers, gharials, and white tigers in captivity. It also houses the endangered species of the Royal Bengal Tiger. A portion of it has been designated as a sanctuary, and it also features a botanical garden. It is the first zoo in India with a white tiger safari. A twenty-minute drive through the meandering roads crisscrossing the natural forest in a special protected vehicle takes the visitors straight into the pride of lion in the lion safari. Visitors can also avail opportunity to sight sloth bears in their natural habitat through safari bus service.

    ODISHA STATE MUSEUM

    Established in 1932 the Odisha State Museum was moved to Bhubaneswar in 1960 where it is currently located.  The State Museum consists of eleven categories of artefacts – Archaeology, Epigraphy, Numismatics, Armory, Mining, Geology, Natural History, Art & Craft, Contemporary Art, Patta Painting, Anthropology, and Palm Leaf Manuscripts – preserving the art and history of the State.

    CHANDIPUR BEACH

    Chandipur beach is located in THE Baleswar district of Odisha. During low tides the beach recedes up to 5 KM offering visitors the opportunity to walk on the sea bed. This unique phenomenon helps the beach to support its equally unique biodiversity. It is home to the endangered horse shoe crabs, star fish, sea urchins to name a few.

    RAGHURAJPUR

    Raghurajpur is located in the Puri district of Odisha and is known as the Craftsmen’s Village. It is known for its master Pattachitra painters, an art form which dates back to 5 BC in the region; and Gotipua dance troupes.

    KALA BHOOMI: ODISHA CRAFTS MUSEUM

    The museum honours the craftmanship of artisans by displaying their breath-taking masterpieces. Handicrafts and handlooms from across the state are on display inside this one-of-a-kind museum. Kala Bhoomi is built using local raw materials such as laterite stone which can still be seen in some of the oldest monuments around the state. The museum celebrates the craftsmanship of artisans by putting on display their breath-taking masterpieces. Divided into 2 blocks, the museum has a display area and a live section. The display area focuses on galleries about Handicrafts and Handlooms from around the state while the live section is equipped with an outdoor amphitheatre as well as separate workshop zones. The museum is located in Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar.

    EKAMRA HAAT

    Ekamra Haat is located in the heart of the city of Bhubaneswar It is a popular point for the exhibition and purchasing of local art, handicrafts, and handlooms along with that it also provides space for art and crafts from other states to showcase their craftsmanship. Unlike the period trade fairs, Ekamra Haat presents the permanent stalls of Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and selected other states presenting an amalgamation of arts and crafts, handlooms and embroidery works. Haat presents a cluster of 42 shops accompanied by selected food stalls offering local cuisine. One can visit this place for purchasing terracotta artefacts, appliques, pattachitra paintings, decorated palm leaves, sarees, bed-sheets, curtains and other handlooms.
