National Law University Odisha Cuttack hosted the 1st Annual Flower Show 2023 in the month of January ‘2023, which was inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court Dr. S. National Law University Odisha’s (NLUO) First Annual Flower was conducted from 21st January to 23rd January 2023 with the inaugural ceremony on the first day and the valedictory ceremony being conducted on the 23rd of January 2023. The three days of successful flower show witnessed participation in different categories, such as potted plants, cut-flowers. In non-competitive category there was an overwhelming display of flowers from across Odisha. The three days also witnessed cultural programme with participation from not only students of NLUO but also from various government and private schools. It was the very first attempt of the University to bring the general mass of twin cities together. NLUO has declared 2023 as the ‘Year Of Child’ and the flower show was a great beginning to that, with participation of children of every age group from diverse backgrounds.

The flower show was conducted in collaboration with the Horticulture Department, Govt. of Odisha and the Cuttack Municipal Corporation. Day 1 of the show witnessed more than 600 visitors, Day 2 witnessed more than 1000 and on Day 3 witnessed more than 2200 visitors. The Legal Aid Society also conducted its Annual Food Fest Zaika” during the three days which served delicacies from different states being prepared by the students of NLUO themselves. The University has a primary objective of spreading aid and assistance to the nearby villages with its institutionalised programmes. The same was showcased in different stalls and how community outreaching is done through the Legal Aid Clinics, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, KUTUMB project (Flagship project of the university where the University has adopted three villages in its immediate vicinity focussing majorly on child centric issues), Centre for Mediation and Negotiation, National Service Scheme etc.  The three days of fun and frolic was not only instrumental in bringing different communities and sections of the twin cities together but also was successful in creating a sense of awareness and consciousness among the students of the University.
